A random girl's random gymnastics ramblings.

i'm more talented than all of you. i see that clearly now.

I don't know who reads this blog.  By the wonder that is StatCounter, I can safely say that not a whole ton of people read it at all.  Although, I do have it on good authority that one MISS VAL said she liked my UCLA video.  Even so, I have no delusions about how far my internet voice reaches.

But I just wanted to put this out there.  Who knows, maybe one positive voice will cut through the mountain of negativity.

An open letter to Mattie Larson.

Dear Mattie,

Chin up.

Your fans will always be your fans, no matter what.  We will always root for you, we will always support you.  You are a GOOD gymnast.  You are beautiful, and your gymnastics INSPIRES other gymnasts.  Little girls will want to join this sport because of athletes like you.  Even with bitter old curmudgeons like myself, you remind us of why we love gymnastics.

Nothing will ever take that away from you.

So be happy.  You have impressed, you have inspired.  I know beyond a doubt that you will continue to do so, no matter where life takes you.

We are your fans, no matter what.

  1. I love it. And I swear, I did not see this before I posted my own "open letter." lol

  2. Thank God for people like you. I love this blog.

  3. Nice work. This is what gymnastics is about or at least should be.

  4. There is no need for Mattie to be upset. She helped the US earn a silver medal. She was out there competing with the best gymnasts in the world and she fit right in. Mattie deserves congratulations for being an incredible gymnast!

  5. It's not that I want to trash her. I'm sure she did not want to fall. It's more that I am anti the people saying it is wrong to discuss it...or that we are trashing her for just being direct.

  6. Here, here! I full-heartedly agree!

  7. i read your blog and i love it. keep it coming!

  8. I'm a fan of Mattie. And Brittany S. Pierce.
