I just tried to like Dougie's picture. Clearly fb has infiltrated my brain. I miss the lunge, I didn't fear as much for knees, ankles, and my poor eyes as much with lunges.
Well if you do a split jump like Dougie's then instead of being deducted for a crappy leap you get deducted for lack of control. Chelaru stag leap 2011 Euros EF anyone?
Dude, when are they gonna catch onto this and alter the COP so gymnasts will stop doing this? It drives me crazy to see people leap out of everything. Gives them an advantage over gymnasts who actually try to stick it. Love Gabby's though.
It's really a problem when Aly Raisman has one of the better leaps out of passes. That's just because she can muscle anything...probably even a standing double Arabian ha.

ReplyDeleteindeed, unless you can jump out the gym like Gabby, the code forces everyone to go Lauren Mitchell and milk the leap BAD
ReplyDeleteAtler was definitely one of the best; I don't like Gabby but I can't fault her sky-high leaps at the end of a pass. Everyone else should just stop.
